It is the goal of Great Dane PAWS to rescue and re-home those Great Danes
who are of sound temperament who are unwanted, abused and neglected, turned in to shelters, abandoned or otherwise
homeless. Great Dane PAWS will take in, as space permits, Great Danes, regardless of age, temperament, medical or
behavioral problems, although this does not necessarily guarantee that these animals will be placed. If an animal
is found to be un-adoptable the animal either remains to live out its natural life with a member of Great Dane PAWS,
or it will be euthanized humanely with the dignity, kindness and respect afforded a cherished family pet. Whichever
the situation dictates, we are dedicated to maintaining the safety and well being of our Foster homes, their pets and
our Rescues.
Great Dane PAWS accepts Great Danes from local animal shelters, individuals and those dogs found wandering the streets.
Each dog that comes through Great Dane PAWS is fully vetted and treated for any existing medical condition prior to adoption.
The dog will be spayed or neutered and placed on Heartworm preventative. All shots will be up to date and the dog free of internal
and external parasites at the time of placement. Each dog will remain in a foster to evaluate its temperament. During this time,
its social skills will be assessed, housebreaking training will be implemented if necessary and the dog will be introduced to crate
training. Basic house manners are taught at the foster home, and we highly recommend that you enroll your new family member in a
basic obedience course to help you bond and begin the establishment of a healthy and happy lifelong relationship.
