Unfortunately, in our city, there are hundreds of unclaimed stray animals.
You see them at the shelter and wandering the streets daily. These animals’ previous owners never post LOST signs begging
for the return of their cherished pet, nor do they ever step foot in the shelters looking for them. Some of them are lucky
enough to find a good Samaritan willing to temporarily take them in, feed them, and nurse them back to health while desperately
trying to find them a forever home. Most of these wonderful people do not have the means to keep the animals that wander into
their lives, and their resources for finding them a good home are limited. By the same token, there are also pets out there
whose families, due to unforeseen circumstances, can no longer keep their much loved companion or provide them suitable homes.
These families seek good loving homes for their beloved pets, but they too are limited in ways of finding new homes.
Overwhelming demand to give these good Samaritans and families another avenue for finding good homes for the stray animals
and pets prompted the development of this page.
Before a stray or pet can be posted on this page, PAWS requires that they first be sterilized. PAWS offers a Spay/Neuter
Assistance Program, or can refer you to other veterinarians/clinics that offer the same -- there are also various low cost
vaccination clinics available. If the animal is not sterilized and/or current on vaccinations, call 918-376-2397 to set up
an appointment or for a referral. If the animal is already sterilized or you have already booked an appointment with us,
please email us to have them added to the site. A picture is always helpful when trying to place an animal. We will also
refer you to a local veterinarian so that your pet can receive a checkup.
